Set Point! — An Introduction
Hi and welcome! This is a new blog dedicated to a weekly news round up for the competitive fighting game community (FGC). I’m NormieNick. I’m an active member of the Fighting Game Community in the Tampa Bay Area. I compete here and there, but I enjoy the community and hanging out the most.
I’m creating Set Point! because I love following the stories of games and players. Not everyone wants to follow the news daily. With a weekly format, people can find the biggest news and see a big picture view of what’s happening in the scene.
Here’s what you will find in this round up: news affecting the gameplay of the biggest fighting games published by Capcom, Arc Systems Works, Bandai Namco, and SNK; tournament and league results; and the occasional miscellaneous post that just doesn’t fit those two categories neatly i.g. money/exhibition matches, indie games, platform fighters and puzzle games.
What you won’t find this round up: Character skin/mods; battle pass announcements, Twitter beef/drama (you can check out Button Check for that); memes like “my dog can do a hadouken” even though I love stuff like that; character tech; and tier lists (check out Lord Knight’s video about tier lists here).
